Little Harper Grace. LOVE HER.

This little PUMPKIN was born to Model!  She LOVES her own reflection and loves to smile.  Had so much fun with little Miss Harper Grace.

I kept telling her Mommy, Bethany, that it is NOT normal for baby sessions to be so easy. Thank you for making my Monday amazing.  :)

Sometimes.. I get a little crafty...

So, I know this is my Photography Blog and all.  However, sometimes I just feel so crafty and I need to share it.  :)  Here are just some of the fun projects I have been working on.  Austin's bathroom was in need of a serious re-decoration.  My mom and I looked all over and she ended up picking up the cutest set from target.  The striped shower curtain went along with a towel with a pirate octopus.  AUSTIN LOVES PIRATES.  It was just the touch to make it fit for a 5 year old.  However, it left a HUGE area of the wall to fill.  So... I hand painted these canvas to remind him to "Brush your Teeth" and "Wash your Hands."  I think I may add another.. eventually... to remind him to FLUSH.  Any Suggestions???

I also was inspired by the Disney Television show, "Good Luck Charlie."  They have a refrigerator on there that is a giant chalkboard.  Knowing that 1.  We don't exactly have the moo-lah for a new fridge and 2.  Who knows if it was custom made; I decided to take matters into my own hands.  Here are 3 CHALKBOARD STICKERS (only $1.99 for all three) that I purchased at Michael's Arts and Craft.  WAAA LAAAA... Chalk board reminders so that I can attempt to fix my flaw of being organizationally challenged.  :)

Last but not least.... My pumpkin this year.  Not to be outdone by my Gator's Pumpkin from the year before (It was Quite amazing)  haha...
This is EPIC!!!!
  HELLO KITTY PUMPKIN.

I put it by the front door, so everyday when I leave the house I can't help but smile.

The eyes, nose and whiskers are hot glued on.
The pumpkin was painted white.
The witches hat was a paper mache cone wrapped in black felt with an orange ribbon tied on.  Bada Bing- Bada Boom.
Best. Pumpkin. I've. Ever. Made.
I don't say that lightly.  Ha.

The gorgeous Helmer Family

I absolutely LOVE sessions with little kids. They are such a riot!!! I really believe that if you just let them have fun and play then you will organically get the shots you are looking for. Sometimes.. it's just capturing a sensitive moment between mom and daughter that can just take your breathe away. This one melted my heart.

When I posted this image I got the best compliment from a fellow photographer.  She emailed me and asked if I do "Magazine Covers" because she is looking for someone to work with children.  WOW.  What a great start to the feedback from the shoot.  Luckily, little Riley was the perfect mixture of Cutie pie and Diva.  We had so much fun with the bubbles, chalk boards, and we even got her to wear a headband and hat by the end.  The only bribery offered was Ice Cream.  Thanks to her amazing parents for that.  There's NOTHING wrong with a little bribery.  haha.

Why I no longer have a life. :)

One of my amazing clients emailed me about adding some wity text to my Photo Blogs and she made me realize that I haven't really been using the Blog CORRECTLY.  So, if you want WITY Emersizzle-isms... here we go.  Just remember that you asked for it.  Let me start by saying that this Photography Business has been an amazing Journey for me.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about how blessed I am to have so many supportive people by my side.  Between my incredible husband who doesn't complain about me editing pictures for HOURS AND HOURS on end until I feel just right about each session, to my best friends who have spread the word about "Cindy Emerson Photography" and have helped me through compliments and critiques, to my family who have helped me see the potential in the business and encouraged me to jump in with all my heart.  Thank you to everyone.  I may not have a "life," but I'm loving ever moment of it.

:)  Love you all, Cindy Emerson

Murray Maternity Session

In my opinion, there is nothing more beautiful than a pregnant woman.  With that being said,  I would like to exclude myself from that category.  I was a walking Sasquatch from month 3 on.  I hate to admit it, but I was less than cute during my "baby baking."  However, I have been incredibly lucky to document this amazing time period for so many of my clients.  They are absolutely radiant.

This wasn't my first session with the Murray Family.  Last year we did a really fun session that included two of thier other "babies."  It was one of my first "Doggie and me" picture sessions and I LOVED it.  One of my favorite shots was of Greg and thier beautiful German Shepard.  There was just a connection between them that was evident in the picture.  Love it.
This time, we were able to focus on the beauty of Crystal.
She is absolutely gorgeous and makes taking photographs so easy.  I swear that she just CAN NOT take a bad picture.  They are going to have one of the most beautiful babies of all time.  Can't wait for our newborn session.

Sugar and Spice... and Everything Nice

It was INCREDIBLY hard to pick just a few images from this awesome session.  We headed to Stuart to the Ballard Ranch and had so much fun with our tea party, swings, bubbles, and sisterly snuggling. Journey is just a natural little model full of dramatic gazes and beautiful poses.  Little Jaime is giggle monster that just couldn't stop smiling.  They both are so cute and were so much fun.

It's sessions like this that make me realize how blessed I am to be a photographer, doing something I love so much.

XOXO,
