CocoPPa instructions

The COOLEST Free APP Ever...  CocoPPa

I recently had a really cool tutorial up that was written by another blogger
(That I gave credit to numerous times.. )
and she unfortunately threw a tantrum about me posting her stuff
(Despite being given ALL the credit).  Very icky.

Sorry guys.. tutorial is now down.

  2. LOVE THIS! Some of them don't work well. Did anyone have success with the camera, calendar, and other already installed iphone apps? I also couldn't get safari to work. I entered "www.google.com" but it came up blank when opened. I'm so excited

  3. Did you add the https://
I forgot the first time and it did not work, but when I added it the shortcut work

    1. You really should make this site more mobile friendly. I saw this pinned and found it impossible to view, plus it kept going back and forth pages.

      Just a suggestion,

    2. The same thing happened to me, I had to look for your blog in my computer. Can't wait to start working on my phone.

  5. Thank you. I'm now going to spend my next waking hours making my phone fabulous. Question though...where did your FANTASTIC background come from??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I have a similar background on my phone.
The link to the tutorial and program is http://forchicsake.com/monogram-phone-wallpaper/
They also have a quarterfoil with monogram background tutorial.

      Delete
    2. The background is on the 'wallpaper' section of the app

    3. The girl that originally made this tutorial used the app "WallAboutYou" to create her monogram background. It costs $1.99 but has some super cute backgrounds. Hope this helps :)

  11. I'm not sure if you ever answer these comments but how in the world did you get your initials on your background like that? That is soooo cute and I would love to have mine but I haven't a clue how!

  12. I agree.. I love the way you have your initials? But I have no clue how to do that!

  14. Unfortunately i don't have iphone. I have an android phone. Is this app applicable to android or do i need to find an android equivalent to customize my phone? I love the creativity of it all and i don't want to be limited anymore. Help??

    1. I used this one for my Android and it's really cute. There is a free version but you get a lot more for the $1. :)

    1. When you double click the Home button it shows that using all these shortcuts will open the shortcut as well as the actual app. It will save your battery a lot more if you go through this often and close them done when you're done using the app. That may help!

  19. These URLs worked for me:

Safari♥ http:// (since I already have the google search app, I used this instead of using google.com to open up Safari, and it will open up a "blank page"... it will say something like the webpage could not be opened, but the search bar and such is still functional. I'd rather have that than have 2 apps that open up to google, know what I mean? I'm a little OCD. lol)
    Calendar♥ calshow://
    Videos♥ videos://
    Photos♥ photos-redirect://
    Maps♥ maps://
    SMS♥ sms://
    Mail♥ mailto://
    Music♥ music://
    Reminders♥ x-apple-reminder://
    iTunes♥ http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=156093464&id=156093462&s=143441
    App Store♥ http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=294409923&mt=8

    1. Thank you Karah, this is very helpful, I was missing the one for my calendar :) Still can't get my itunes to work. Do you have one for the phone or camera?

      Delete
    2. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to find a url scheme for the ones such as phone, camera, settings, clock, etc. I've been researching and looking around, but from what I've been reading, those certain apps just do not have a url... ;(
So for some of them, what I did was just installed new apps, such as calculator, weather, and notes.. Because usually you can find some apps in the appstore that are better than the ones on your phone lol

      Delete
    3. Where did you find these urls? I can't get the iTunes or App Store ones to work.

    4. hmm.. the reminders and photos links didn't work for me :(

    5. some i found online, some i found in the comments of certain icons in Cocoppa and just did trial and error until i found some that worked for me. Maybe I just got lucky with some of them.
Now, I have an iphone; im not sure how these urls work for android phones, or if they even work for android phones at all..
Make sure you are entering them correctly:
      iTunes - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=156093464&id=156093462&s=143441
      AppStore - http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=294409923&mt=8

      And, thanks for the calendar!!!

  20. When I get a text or email, it doesn't show in my new icon. Why?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the new icon is just a link to the app, not the actual app.
It sucks, I know.. But at least your icons are cute now lol

      Delete
    2. So where would one go to find their texts and emails if it doesn't show up in the new icon? I was all excited to do this, I even "liked" all my icons already, but if the texts don't show up on the first screen, where would you go to get them?

      Delete
    3. The little red circle notifications you would get when you have a new email, text, etc, will only show up on the original app.. This does not mean that if you use the new cute icons, that you will not receive any new texts or emails, etc. The new icons are just merely "bookmarks" for the original apps; they are still fully functional. And if you'd click on the new icons, it will open up the original app. Since the new icons, like email and messages, do not open directly to your inboxes like the original apps, it will instead open up a new blank message or email; all you have to do is click "cancel" and it will then go to your inbox.
So to sum it all up: the new icons will not show the little red circle notifications, but the original app will still have them.

  26. Hi there! I noticed you had the pages app (and a really cute icon!) , however, wheni try to search for pages after I selected my icon, I can't find it. Is there any special URL? Thanks!

  27. Thanks for the tutorial! When I downloaded the app it had instructions for me and did all the work for me. It literally took maybe 3 secs to set up the link. I have the iphone5 so maybe thats why it was faster? I don't know but I'm loving my new look!

    1. It doesn't give them any info, you are just linking your new icon to the app icon.

  31. So this makes your phone look cute, but your phone is completely non-functional! All of my message/email/facebook notification icons (the red dot with the number) don't show up on the new, cute icons. So I spent all that time making my phone look adorable....only to go and delete them all so that I could actually use my phone to communicate. If they find a way to make it so they actually work, I'll put them all back on.

    1. Half the time those icons never show up on my original apps anyway. I always check my e-mails so I don't worry much about the red dot.

  35. It's sad when people act that way! You should be able to post your own version of a tutorial. That blogger doesn't own CocoPPa or Apple, so it's like posting a chocolate chip cookie recipe, as long as you make it your own, no one should be able to make a stink about it! I don't have to credit my mom or anyone just because she taught me how to bake (although I probably would!!) Bummer!

Perhaps you should/could link to something that will show you how to do this? I did a simple google search, and there's all sorts of options.

Again, sorry that person was icky about this. :-(
